I-II (2013) \u015fi volumul \u201eLimba rom\u00e2n\u0103 \u2013 \u00ab\u00eentre paranteze\u00bb?\nDespre statutul actual al limbii rom\u00e2ne \u00een Republica Moldova\u201d (2013). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ast\u0103zi \u015ftim c\u0103 tratatul\nsemnat de turci \u015fi ru\u015fi \u00een data de 16 mai 1812 s-a repercutat profund asupra\ndestinului acestui col\u0163 de \u0163ar\u0103, av\u00e2nd consecin\u0163e nu doar de ordin politic,\nsocial \u015fi economic, ci mai ales de ordin cultural \u015fi identitar. Ceea ce nu \u015ftim\n\u00eens\u0103 este modul \u00een care au comunicat \u015fi s-au raportat unii la al\u0163ii basarabenii\n\u015fi \u201efra\u0163ii\u201d lor de peste Prut \u00een toat\u0103 aceast\u0103 perioad\u0103 de \u00eenstr\u0103inare \u015fi cum\ns-au perceput ei reciproc dup\u0103 re\u00eentregirea din decembrie 1918.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, dac\u0103 cineva \u00ee\u015fi\npropune s\u0103 se dedice acestei teme, ar trebui s\u0103 porneasc\u0103 din capul locului de\nla un volum aproape uitat: <strong><em>Drumuri basarabene<\/em><\/strong> de Mihail\nSadoveanu. Adun\u00e2nd la un loc \u00eensemn\u0103rile din c\u0103l\u0103toria pe care autorul a\nf\u0103cut-o imediat dup\u0103 Unire \u00een Moldova dintre Prut \u015fi Nistru, volumul surprinde\npulsul societ\u0103\u0163ii basarabene de atunci \u015fi repercusiunile grave ale ocupa\u0163iei \u0163ariste.\nAp\u0103rut mai \u00eent\u00e2i la Chi\u015fin\u0103u, \u00een 1921, cu titlul <strong><em>Orhei \u015fi Soroca. Note de drum,<\/em><\/strong>\nvolumul s-a publicat ulterior \u015fi la Bucure\u015fti, cu unele mici modific\u0103ri, la\nEditura H. Steinberg &amp; Fiul. <em>(M.\nSadoveanu, <\/em>Drumuri basarabene<em>, Bucure\u015fti,\n1922; citatele sunt reproduse dup\u0103 aceast\u0103 edi\u0163ie)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fiind dat uit\u0103rii \u00een\nperioada regimului comunist \u015fi probabil interzis, <em>Drumuri basarabene <\/em>a fost retip\u0103rit abia \u00een 1992. (<em>M. Sadoveanu, <\/em>Drumuri basarabene<em>, edi\u0163ie \u00eengrijit\u0103 de I. Opri\u015fan, Bucure\u015fti,\nSaeculum, Chi\u015fin\u0103u, \u015etiin\u0163a, 1992<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen ansamblu, cele 23 de\ncapitole \u00eentinse pe 147 de pagini configureaz\u0103 imaginea Basarabiei la 1919,\natunci c\u00e2nd Sadoveanu a c\u0103l\u0103torit, \u00eenso\u0163it de prietenul s\u0103u Grigore Cazacliu,\nmazil basarabean, mai \u00eent\u00e2i la Ungheni \u015fi B\u0103l\u0163i, apoi la Soroca \u015fi Cob\u00e2lnea,\nSlobozia \u015fi Cotiujenii Mari, Telene\u015fti \u015fi C\u0103pre\u015fti, ajung\u00e2nd \u00een final la\nm\u0103n\u0103stirile H\u00e2rbov\u0103\u0163, H\u00e2rjauca, R\u0103ciula \u015fi Frumoasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00censtr\u0103inata \u015fi pierduta Basarabie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volumul se deschide cu\ncapitolul <em>Vechea \u015fi frumoasa Moldov\u0103<\/em>\n\u2013 un imn \u00een care scriitorul c\u00e2nt\u0103 vechea m\u0103re\u0163ie a \u0163\u0103rii sale, exprim\u00e2ndu-\u015fi\nastfel bucuria de a vedea Moldova re\u00eentregit\u0103. M\u0103rturisind c\u0103 <em>Descrierea Moldovei<\/em> lui D. Cantemir,\ncartea sa de referin\u0163\u0103, este ca o \u201egr\u0103din\u0103 p\u0103rinteasc\u0103, veche \u015fi p\u0103r\u0103sit\u0103\u201d, \u00een\ncare umbl\u0103 \u00eenfiorat, c\u0103ci \u00een fiecare ungher sufletul s\u0103u tresare, Sadoveanu\nsl\u0103ve\u015fte trecutul glorios al \u0162\u0103rii Moldovei, \u00eentrev\u0103z\u00e2ndu-i cu entuziasm \u015fi un\nviitor la fel de luminos: \u201eSufletul meu, din trecut se \u00eenal\u0163\u0103 \u00een viitor, vede\npoporul cel cinstit slobozit din c\u0103tu\u015fe, ridic\u00e2ndu-se \u00een depline drepturi, cu\nfruntea iar\u0103\u015fi \u00een lumin\u0103, ca str\u0103mo\u015fii cei tari.\u201d (p. 8)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dup\u0103 aceast\u0103 stare de\nspirit euforic\u0103, plin\u0103 de bucuria reg\u0103sirii, Sadoveanu urmeaz\u0103 s\u0103 se confrunte\n\u00eens\u0103, r\u00e2nd pe r\u00e2nd, cu realit\u0103\u0163ile basarabene. El surprinde, \u00eent\u00e2i de toate,\nrusificarea locuitorilor, mai ales a claselor sus-puse, \u015fi lipsa con\u015ftiin\u0163ei de\nneam a acestora. Astfel, \u00een t\u00e2rgul Sorocii cunoa\u015fte o familie de oameni \u00eenst\u0103ri\u0163i,\ncare \u201egr\u0103iesc nestricat limba b\u0103tr\u00e2nilor, de\u015fi pe d\u00e2nsul cunoscu\u0163ii \u00eel numesc\nVasile Gheorghevici \u015fi ei \u00eei zic Ecaterina Andreievna\u201d (p. 31). Cu toate c\u0103\nsunt \u201eo p\u0103reche blajin\u0103 de moldoveni\u201d, unica lor fiic\u0103, domni\u015foara Liuba, nu \u015ftie\nrom\u00e2ne\u015fte. C\u00e2nd c\u0103l\u0103torul \u00ee\u015fi manifest\u0103 nedumerirea, Ecaterina Andreievna, mama\nfetei, \u00eei explic\u0103: \u201enoi am dat-o la \u015fcoala ruseasc\u0103, cum se cuvenea, c\u0103 alta nu\nera. \u015ei ca s\u0103-i fie u\u015for, vorbeam \u015f-acas\u0103 cu d\u00e2nsa ruse\u015fte\u201d (p. 35).\nComentariile scriitorului sunt laconice, dar extrem de sugestive, \u00eentruc\u00e2t\nsurprind o stare de lucruri generalizat\u0103 \u00een timpul \u0163arismului: \u201eEra ambi\u0163ia\nmicilor burjui de a \u00eennobila pe aceast\u0103 cale o odrasl\u0103, de a face din odorul\nlor o bar\u00e2\u015fnia des\u0103v\u00e2r\u015fit\u0103 (&#8230;) \u015e-am \u00een\u0163eles pe ce se sprijineau blajinii ru\u015fi\nca s\u0103 \u00eentemeieze \u00eentr-un t\u00e2rg ca Soroca trei licee de fete. Am \u00een\u0163eles de ce\naud pretutindeni, pe uli\u0163i, tineretul vorbind aceast\u0103 dulce limb\u0103. St\u0103p\u00e2nirea\n\u00eentreprinsese cu viclenie rusificarea mamelor.\u201d (p. 36)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Cotiujenii Mari,\ntrec\u00e2nd pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 curtea boierului Bonciu, tovar\u0103\u015ful s\u0103u de drum \u00eei spune c\u0103\nurma\u015fii acestuia \u201evorbeau musc\u0103le\u015fte \u015fi r\u0103sfr\u00e2ngeau dispre\u0163uitor buzele c\u00e2nd\nprostul grai al localnicilor le lovea urechile\u201d. Din cei doi nepo\u0163i ai lui\nBonciu, \u201eunul a devenit ispravnic undeva \u00een Cavcaz, altul \u2013 judec\u0103tor de pace\n\u00een \u0163inut\u201d, despre care localnicii afirm\u0103: \u201eA venit judec\u0103tor \u00eentre noi. El\npl\u00e2ngerile noastre \u00een limba p\u0103rin\u0163ilor no\u015ftri nu le-n\u0163elegea. \u0162inea norodul la\nu\u015f\u0103 cu c\u0103ciula \u00een m\u00e2n\u0103. Vorbea cu asprime \u00een limba celor de la Moscova. C\u0103ta\nposomor\u00e2t \u015fi cu dispre\u0163 la noi, p\u0103m\u00e2ntenii, \u015fi lovea \u00een noi, f\u0103r\u0103 cru\u0163are.\u201d (p.\n66) Mazilul mai precizeaz\u0103 c\u0103, pe vremea ru\u015filor, \u201ecei boga\u0163i s\u0103 sileau s\u0103\nliorb\u0103iasc\u0103 ca st\u0103p\u00e2nii lor \u015fi-\u015fi c\u00e2rneau ruse\u015fte nasul c\u00e2nd auzeau grai\nmoldovenesc\u201d (p. 63).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cu toate acestea, adaug\u0103\nel, pe ici-colo, se mai g\u0103sea \u00een Basarabia c\u00e2te un moldovean bun, \u00eentre cei\nmari ai lumii, la care \u201eg\u0103seai pe mas\u0103 o carte \u00een limba noastr\u0103\u201d, iar \u201ela zile\nmari puneau \u015fase cai la dro\u015fc\u0103 \u015fi se duceau la o m\u0103n\u0103stire ca s-asculte\nc\u00e2nt\u0103rile cele vechi de la strana moldoveneasc\u0103. Am avut \u015fi boieri de ace\u015ftia,\npu\u0163ini ce-i drept, dar cu at\u00e2ta ne-au fost mai dragi\u201d (p. 63).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exemplul concludent \u00een\nacest sens este chiar mazilul \u00eensu\u015fi, care, fiind elev la liceul tehnic din\nSoroca, spre sf. sec. al XIX-lea, a participat la reprezenta\u0163ia unui teatru de\noperet\u0103 de la Ia\u015fi. Unul dintre actori, Bobescu, le-a vorbit tinerilor \u00een\ngr\u0103dina public\u0103 despre Moldova de dincolo de Prut \u015fi despre 1812, despre eroica\nistorie a str\u0103mo\u015filor \u015fi despre nefericirea neamului rupt \u00een patru z\u0103ri.\nNeav\u00e2nd acces la istoria na\u0163ional\u0103 \u015fi la c\u0103r\u0163i \u00een limba rom\u00e2n\u0103, pentru maz\u00e2l \u015fi\nprietenii s\u0103i, \u201eacest r\u0103t\u0103citor actor de provincie a fost cel mai ascultat\nprofesor de istorie, \u00eentr-o dup\u0103-amiaz\u0103 de var\u0103, \u00een umbra \u00eenstelat\u0103 de lumin\u0103,\npe c\u00e2nd \u015fepcile ruse\u015fti ale cinovnicilor foiau \u00een toate p\u0103r\u0163ile pe alei\u201d (p.\n16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De altfel, despre\nimportan\u0163a p\u0103trunderii c\u0103r\u0163ilor rom\u00e2ne\u015fti \u00een Basarabia (care erau interzise de\nregimul \u0163arist) Sadoveanu aflase \u015fi de la Simeon Murafa, care \u00eei m\u0103rturisise c\u0103\n\u201esolda\u0163i de-ai lui f\u0103ceau foarte des drumuri \u00eenapoi, \u00eenc\u0103rca\u0163i cu c\u0103r\u0163i de la\nIa\u015fi\u201d, deoarece \u201ecartea cu slov\u0103 rom\u00e2neasc\u0103, orice carte care vorbe\u015fte inimilor\nde la noi, este o s\u0103m\u00e2n\u0163\u0103 ce va rodi \u00eensutit ca \u015fi s\u0103m\u00e2n\u0163a cea bun\u0103 a\nEvangheliei\u201d (p. 76).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Limba\u2013 sf\u00e2nt\u0103 mo\u015ftenire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fin observator,\nSadoveanu remarc\u0103 de fiecare dat\u0103 cum se vorbe\u015fte \u00een locurile pe care le\nviziteaz\u0103. Acest aspect constituie aproape un laitmotiv, o obsesie a c\u0103l\u0103torului:\norice interlocutor care \u00eei iese \u00een cale este prezentat din perspectiva modului\n\u00een care se exprim\u0103. Personajele pe care le cunoa\u015fte \u015fi le prezint\u0103 cititorului\nsavuros au, \u00eent\u00e2i de toate, o identitate lingvistic\u0103. Astfel, vizit\u00e2nd \u00eentr-o\nzi de duminic\u0103 m\u0103n\u0103stirea Cu\u015fal\u0103uca (\u201eun cuib de c\u0103lug\u0103ri\u0163e s\u0103race, \u00eentre\ndealuri unduioase, la marginea unei dumbr\u0103vi de stejar\u201d), Sadoveanu constat\u0103 c\u0103\nslujba, c\u00e2nt\u0103rile \u015fi predica \u201eurmeaz\u0103 a\u015fa, ca \u015fi c\u00e2nd niciodat\u0103 n-a ap\u0103sat\nasupra acestor locuri domnia unei limbi str\u0103ine\u201d. Cu toate acestea, surprinde\nimediat realitatea: \u201ela ie\u015fire, st\u00e2nd de vorb\u0103 cu c\u00e2\u0163iva gospodari, simt \u00een\nlimba lor petele negre pe care nu putea s\u0103 nu le lase o st\u0103p\u00e2nire de o sut\u0103 \u015fi\nmai bine de ani\u201d (p. 10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, aceste pete negre le\nsesizeaz\u0103 aproape la to\u0163i interlocutorii s\u0103i. Edificatoare \u00een acest sens este\nprezentarea micii societ\u0103\u0163i burgheze, descris\u0103 \u00een capitolul <em>Boieri vechi<\/em>: \u201eSe vorbe\u015fte cu \u00eensufle\u0163ire\n\u015fi mult ruse\u015fte. (&#8230;) Nu putem \u00eens\u0103 vorbi moldovene\u015fte dec\u00e2t cu doi b\u0103rba\u0163i:\nst\u0103p\u00e2nul casei, care se trage din vechi neam de b\u0103\u015ftina\u015fi \u015fi cu-n unchi, care\nare nume polonez. Cel dint\u00e2i roste\u015fte lat \u015fi dialectal graiul \u0163\u0103ranilor.\nUnchiul cu nume polonez \u00eens\u0103 m\u0103 surprinde prin \u00eentors\u0103turile literare pe care\nle arunc\u0103 \u00een conversa\u0163ie\u201d (p. 26). Curios \u015fi atent, Sadoveanu caracterizeaz\u0103\naceste \u201epersonaje\u201d astfel: \u201eNumai cel mai \u00een v\u00e2rst\u0103 \u2013 unchiul \u2013 vorbe\u015fte corect\nlimba p\u0103rin\u0163ilor no\u015ftri. St\u0103p\u00e2nul casei \u00eel urmeaz\u0103, cu pilde \u015fi prognosticuri\nsigure, pe care le coloreaz\u0103 cu vorbe ruse\u015fti \u015fi expresii \u015fov\u0103ielnice. Limba\np\u0103rin\u0163ilor lui mor\u0163i e pentru el acum tulbure. C\u0103s\u0103torit cu o str\u0103in\u0103 \u015fi intrat\n\u00een neamuri str\u0103ine, a pierdut \u00eencet-\u00eencet aceast\u0103 sf\u00e2nt\u0103 mo\u015ftenire. Cuvintele\nvechi din aurita tinere\u0163e se trezesc mirate \u015fi triste parc\u0103 pe buzele lui.\nCopiii lui, din jurul mesei cu ceai, friptur\u0103 \u015fi pl\u0103cinte, ascult\u0103 vocabulele\nnoastre moldovene\u015fti ca pe ceva ciudat \u015fi str\u0103in, de dincolo de ocean.\u201d (p. 27)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e2n\u0103 \u015fi r\u0103uf\u0103c\u0103torii din\ncapitolul <em>Ho\u0163ii,<\/em> care ziceau c\u0103 sunt\nrom\u00e2ni veni\u0163i de la Ia\u015fi, au fost recunoscu\u0163i imediat de st\u0103p\u00e2nul casei dup\u0103\nfelul cum vorbeau: \u201eEi se d\u0103deau drept solda\u0163i rom\u00e2ni, zise b\u0103tr\u00e2nul. Dar\nlimba-i da de gol. Trebuiau <em>negrie\u015fit s\u0103\npliece&#8230;<\/em> Am \u00een\u0163eles c\u0103 trebuie s\u0103 fie ni\u015fte ru\u015fi din Poiana, ni\u015fte sc\u0103pa\u0163i\ndin ostrov.\u201d (p. 58)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Utiliz\u00e2nd sintagme de\ngenul grai amestecat, limb\u0103 g\u00e2ngav\u0103, Sadoveanu surprinde pregnant nivelul la\ncare se vorbea limba rom\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een localit\u0103\u0163ile din Basarabia. Autorul <em>Drumurilor basarabene<\/em> reproduce \u00eentocmai\nbasarabenismele, transcriindu-le \u00een cursiv, \u00een maniera unui dialectolog harnic \u015fi\ns\u00e2rguincios. El le surprinde din zbor sensul \u015fi conota\u0163iile: de la cinovnic \u015fi\nocin\u0103, la Domostroi, stacan, vodc\u0103, svoboda, zacusc\u0103 (pentru aperitiv, m\u00e2ncare\nfrugal\u0103), samovar (pronun\u0163at samavar), troic\u0103, burjui, bar\u00e2\u015fnia, bol\u015fevic,\nNestru (\u00een loc de Nistru), guleai (pentru petrecere, chef), restoran, zemstv\u0103,\nbatiu\u015fc\u0103, polcovnic, respublic\u0103, moscal \u015f. a., cuvinte cu care era \u00eempestri\u0163at\u0103\nexprimarea celor de la fa\u0163a locului.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De fapt, degradarea\nlimbii rom\u00e2ne \u00een perioada 1812-1918 a fost semnalat\u0103 \u00een mai multe studii din\nultimii ani. Lingvi\u015ftii au demonstrat c\u0103 interferen\u0163a dintre rom\u00e2n\u0103 \u015fi rus\u0103, pe\nde o parte, \u015fi scoaterea din uz a limbii rom\u00e2ne, pe de alt\u0103 parte, au afectat\ngrav limba vorbit\u0103 \u00een aceast\u0103 zon\u0103. Nu \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103tor, la \u00eenceputul sec. al\nXX-lea, adic\u0103 \u00een perioada c\u0103l\u0103toriei lui Sadoveanu prin aceste locuri, se\nconstat\u0103 o deosebire frapant\u0103 \u00eentre rom\u00e2na vorbit\u0103 \u00een st\u00e2nga Prutului \u015fi cea\ndin dreapta Prutului. Limba rom\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een Basarabia anilor 1812-1918, dat fiind c\u0103\na fost privat\u0103 de condi\u0163iile favorabile de func\u0163ionare \u015fi dezvoltare pe care\nle-a avut limba rom\u00e2n\u0103 din dreapta Prutului, nu numai c\u0103 a stagnat, str\u00e2mtorat\u0103\nfiind de limba rus\u0103, care a func\u0163ionat ca limb\u0103 oficial\u0103, ci a \u015fi degradat\nsubstan\u0163ial \u00een urma interferen\u0163ei lingvistice de lung\u0103 durat\u0103.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u00e2t prive\u015fte Revolu\u0163ia\ndin 1917 \u015fi modul \u00een care s-a desf\u0103\u015furat ea \u00een Basarabia, sugestive sunt cele\n\u00eent\u00e2mplate la m\u0103n\u0103stirea H\u00e2rjauca. Prin gura c\u0103lug\u0103rului povestitor, Sadoveanu\nrelateaz\u0103 savuros acest episod: \u201eAuzim noi \u00een puterea nop\u0163ii r\u0103cnete \u015fi focuri\nde pu\u015fc\u0103. Por\u0163ile erau \u00eencuiate. B\u0103teau cu paturile pu\u015ftilor \u00een poart\u0103 \u015fi\nr\u0103cneau s\u0103 deschidem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Cine-i acolo?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Noi, revolu\u0163ia!\nDeschide\u0163i! S\u0103 ne da\u0163i cheile de la pivni\u0163\u0103 s\u0103 facem \u00eent\u00e2i r\u00e2nduial\u0103. Au b\u0103ut\nc\u0103lug\u0103rii destul vin.
