Erau foarte tineri \u015fi la prima colaborare. Elev al lui Iosif Iser \u00eentre anii 1910-1914, va pleca la Z\u00fcrich s\u0103 studieze arhitectura la Institutul Politehnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen Cabaretul Voltaire, organizat de Tzara, va participa \u00een ziua de 6 februarie 1916 la na\u015fterea Mi\u015fc\u0103rii Dada, ce-\u015fi propunea demolarea a \u201etot ceea ce este \u00een momentul actual\u201d. \u00cen acela\u015fi timp, numele lui va figura \u00een alte dou\u0103-trei mi\u015fc\u0103ri ce-\u015fi propuneau \u00eennoirea crea\u0163iei artistice, r\u0103m\u00e2n\u00e2nd, \u00eens\u0103, credincios principiilor dadaiste. \u00cen 1919, la Basel, \u00eenfiin\u0163eaz\u0103 \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Hans Arp \u015fi Alberto Giacometti grupul Arti\u015ftii radicali. Revenit \u00een \u0163ar\u0103, a ini\u0163iat \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Ion Vinea \u015fi Jacques Cousin apari\u0163ia revistei <em>Contimporanul<\/em>. Ca artist a fost extrem de activ, particip\u00e2nd la expozi\u0163iile Contimporanului \u015fi la numeroase expozi\u0163ii interna\u0163ionale \u00een capitalele europene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Credincios crezului \u00eennoitor, va colabora \u015fi cu alte grup\u0103ri ce promovau modernismul, precum Grupul de art\u0103 \u015fi Criterion. Ca arhitect a proiectat, din 1927 vreme de 15 ani, primele case func\u0163ionaliste inspirate din constructivism. Semnalul fusese dat la finele anilor 30, c\u00e2nd, al\u0103turi de Horia Creang\u0103 \u015fi Octav Doicescu, publicase manifestul C\u0103tre o arhitectur\u0103 a Bucure\u015ftilor. Norii grei ce se ab\u0103teau peste Europa l-au determinat, \u00een anul 1941, s\u0103 se stabileasc\u0103 definitiv \u00een Palestina. Dup\u0103 \u00eenfiin\u0163area statului Israel, se afirm\u0103 ca profesor \u015fi animator al vie\u0163ii culturale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizeaz\u0103 grupul Orizonturi noi \u015fi o societate de crea\u0163ie artistic\u0103 la Ein Hod, \u00een 1953. Particip\u0103 \u00een 1952 la Bienala din Vene\u0163ia. \u00cen anul 1967 este laureat al premiului Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Noi vrem s\u0103 zguduim ideile, opinia public\u0103, educa\u0163ia, institu\u0163iile, muzeele, bunul sim\u0163 a\u015fa cum este el definit la momentul actual, pe scurt, tot ceea ce \u0163ine de vechea ordine<\/em>. La \u00eenceputul activit\u0103\u0163ii sale, \u00een Rom\u00e2nia, a promovat, \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Tiberiu Eremia, betonul armat, printre cl\u0103dirile construite figur\u00e2nd Palatul Patriarhiei, Cazinoul \u015fi Moscheea Carol I din Constan\u0163a, Hotelul Ath\u00e9n\u00e9e Palace. Plecarea \u00een Anglia, unde s-a \u015fi stabilit, a sem\u0103nat cu o desc\u0103tu\u015fare excep\u0163ional\u0103 a imagina\u0163iei, reu\u015find, practic, o inven\u0163ie pe lun\u0103 \u015fi circa 400 de brevete! Marea lui realizare, ce contrazice \u015fi \u00een prezent unele teorii ale fizicii, cum ar fi incompresibilitatea lichidelor, poart\u0103 numele de Teoria Sonicit\u0103\u0163ii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pe baza ei, genialul inventator rom\u00e2n a conceput mecanismul de tragere cu mitraliera printre palele elicei, utilizat cu uria\u015f succes de avia\u0163ia britanic\u0103 \u00een Primul R\u0103zboi Mondial; perforatorul sonic cu vibra\u0163ii de \u00eenalt\u0103 frecven\u0163\u0103; cutia de viteze automat\u0103, dar \u015fi primul automobil f\u0103r\u0103 cutie de viteze; convertorul de cuplu; motorul sonic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De la aceast\u0103 teorie a pornit alt rom\u00e2n genial, Ion Basgan, inventatorul \u201eforajului sonic direc\u0163ional\u201d, metod\u0103 care st\u0103 \u00eenc\u0103 la baza forajului modern. \u00cen 1926 revista <em>The Graphic<\/em> l-a inclus \u00een tabloul cu portretele celor mai importan\u0163i savan\u0163i. Cu pu\u0163ini ani \u00eenainte, \u00een 1920, Academia Rom\u00e2n\u0103 l-a ales printre nemuritori. Trebuie men\u0163ionat faptul c\u0103 multe dintre demonstra\u0163iile sale teoretice sunt \u015fi ast\u0103zi secret de stat \u00een Marea Britanie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Una dintre problemele fundamentale ale ingineriei mecanice este aceea de a transmite energia disponibil\u0103 \u00een Natur\u0103, dup\u0103 o transformare potrivit\u0103, la un punct oarecare unde ea poate fi \u00eentrebuin\u0163at\u0103 pentru a produce lucru util<\/em>. La 18 ani va interpreta un rol \u00een primul film rom\u00e2nesc Independen\u0163a Rom\u00e2niei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen capitala Fran\u0163ei va fi muza lui Colin Barbie du Bocage, autor de piese u\u015foare pe care le semna cu pseudonimul Louis Verneuil, care a scris mult, special pentru ea. De la prima apari\u0163ie, \u201eL\u2019accent d\u2019Elvira Popescu\u201d a devenit proverbial. Critica a elogiat-o in corpore, fapt care este foarte rar \u00eent\u00e2lnit \u00een Fran\u0163a, supranumindu-o \u201eReine du Boulevard\u201d, \u201eNotre Dame du Th\u00e9\u00e2tre\u201d. \u00cen afar\u0103 de piesele lui Louis Verneuil, a mai jucat \u00een crea\u0163iile lui Henry Bernstein, Andr\u00e9 Roussin, Sacha Guitry. Toate piesele \u00een care Elvira Popescu era protagonist\u0103 \u0163ineau afi\u015fele cu anii, fiind extrem de solicitat\u0103 de public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unele dintre ele au dep\u0103\u015fit 2.000 de spectacole, ceea ce r\u0103m\u00e2ne o performan\u0163\u0103 rareori egalat\u0103 de al\u0163i actori sau actri\u0163e. Elvira Popescu a condus Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Paris \u015fi Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Marigny. A avut o carier\u0103 prodigioas\u0103 \u015fi \u00een cinematografie, juc\u00e2nd \u00een 26 de filme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fermec\u0103toare \u015fi la o v\u00e2rst\u0103 \u00eenaintat\u0103, a continuat s\u0103 \u0163in\u0103 un salon deschis \u00een apartamentul s\u0103u din Avenue Foch, frecventat de toat\u0103 protipendada literar\u0103, artistic\u0103, financiar\u0103 \u015fi politic\u0103 (de toate nuan\u0163ele) a Parisului. Andr\u00e9 Roussin, Guy de Rothschild, Jacques Chirac, Pierre Cardin, Val\u00e9ry Giscard d\u2019Estaing, precum \u015fi mul\u0163i al\u0163ii, se num\u0103rau printre cei care o priveau \u015fi o ascultau fermeca\u0163i. A jucat \u00een filmele La Pr\u00e9sidente, Ils \u00e9taient neuf c\u00e9libataires, Austerlitz, Plein Soleil \u015f. a. \u00cen 1987 a primit premiul Moli\u00e8re, iar \u00een 1989 a fost decorat\u0103 cu Legiunea de Onoare \u00een grad de comandor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>C\u00e2nd ap\u0103rea Elvira Popescu pe scen\u0103, un fluid magnetic str\u0103b\u0103tea sala. Orice pies\u0103, oric\u00e2t de slab\u0103, c\u0103p\u0103ta via\u0163\u0103 \u015fi orice spectacol \u00eencepea s\u0103 str\u0103luceasc\u0103. Spectatorii nu o l\u0103sau s\u0103 plece de pe scen\u0103, iar aplauzele \u015fi bisurile nu mai conteneau<\/em>.
