Dup\u0103 luptele de la Plevna a fost decorat de \u0163arul Alexandru al II-lea al Rusiei. Mama sa era prin\u0163esa Maria Ghyka. \u00cen 1891 Matila Ghyka pleac\u0103 la Paris cu mama sa. E \u00eenscris la \u015fcoala \u201eSainte Anne\u201d din Saint Ouen. \u00cen 1899 termin\u0103 \u015ecoala Naval\u0103. Pleac\u0103 din nou la Paris \u00eenscriindu-se la \u201e\u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9\u201d, ob\u0163in\u00e2nd diploma de inginer electrician \u00een 1905. A \u00eenceput s\u0103 se preocupe de problema influen\u0163ei vie\u0163ii asupra legilor fizice care descriau comportarea materiei ne\u00eensufle\u0163ite, expun\u00e2ndu-\u015fi teoriile lui Gustave Le Bon \u015fi lui Henri Poincar\u00e9. \u00cen timpul \u015federii la Paris a fost prieten cu Paul Val\u00e9ry, L\u00e9on-Paul Fargue, Marcel Proust, Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry. Public\u0103 \u00een 1927 prima sa lucrare: <em>Estetica propor\u0163iilor \u00een natur\u0103 \u015fi \u00een art\u0103<\/em>. \u00cen acela\u015fi timp \u015fi-a continuat scrierile \u00een domeniul esteticii, cea mai important\u0103 fiind <em>Num\u0103rul de aur \u2013 Rituri \u015fi ritmuri pitagorice \u00een dezvoltarea civiliza\u0163iilor occidentale<\/em> publicat\u0103 \u00een 1931 cu o prefa\u0163\u0103 de Paul Val\u00e9ry. \u00cen 1945, la University of Southern California, Los Angeles a introdus \u00een cursurile sale \u015fi elemente metafizice, transform\u00e2ndu-le \u00een cursuri de simbolism, concentr\u00e2ndu-se asupra teoriei matematice a ritmurilor \u00een literatur\u0103. \u00cel ajut\u0103 pe Dali colabor\u00e2nd cu el pentru definitivarea unora dintre tablourile la care Dali lucra \u00een acea vreme. Este de men\u0163ionat <em>Leda atomica<\/em>, pentru care Ghyka a calculat propor\u0163iile pentagonului \u00een care este \u00eenscris\u0103 figura principal\u0103 a tabloului. Teoria num\u0103rului de aur, expus\u0103 de Matila Ghyka, l-a inspirat pe arhitectul francez Le Corbusier, al c\u0103rui \u0163el era s\u0103 creeze propor\u0163ii armonice \u00een spa\u0163iile de locuit. \u00cen 1950, \u00een v\u00e2rst\u0103 de aproape 70 de ani, s-a retras \u00een Europa, tr\u0103ind pentru mai mul\u0163i ani la Chapelizod, o mic\u0103 localitate la vest de Dublin, Irlanda. Dup\u0103 o via\u0163\u0103 \u00een timpul c\u0103reia avusese prilejul s\u0103 se bucure de toate onorurile, ultimii 15 ani au fost tri\u015fti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nu \u015ftiu cine poart\u0103 r\u0103spunderea acestei nevrednicii strig\u0103toare la cer: autorul neuitatului Le Nombre d\u2019Or s\u0103 fie silit, la b\u0103tr\u00e2ne\u0163e, s\u0103 fac\u0103 pachete la Bon March\u00e9 (pachete cu h\u00e2rtie colorat\u0103, c\u0103ci era s\u0103pt\u0103m\u00e2na Cr\u0103ciunului&#8230;!). Sunt sigur \u00eens\u0103 c\u0103 el, Matila Ghyka, nu s-a pl\u00e2ns niciodat\u0103. Gherasim Luca, fiul unui croitor evreu, s-a n\u0103scut la Bucure\u015fti, \u00een ziua de 23 iulie 1913. Versurile cu care-\u015fi \u00eencepe activitatea \u00een revista <em>Alge<\/em> au starea de spirit sfid\u0103toare a revoltatului care neag\u0103 complet o lume. Este instaurat ca expresie artistic\u0103 neconven\u0163ionalul, \u015focantul, marginalul. Atitudinea insurgent\u0103 a lui Gherasim Luca se exprim\u0103 \u015fi \u00een planul publicisticii, acuz\u00e2nd cu fervoare \u201eburghezismul artistic\u201d. Ader\u00e2nd la concep\u0163ia marxist\u0103, utilitar\u0103, a artei, poetul nu-\u015fi poate renega voca\u0163ia avangardist\u0103. Devine un pledant al ideologiz\u0103rii \u201elimitate\u201d, \u201einteligente\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Din 1938, a c\u0103l\u0103torit frecvent la Paris, unde a intrat repede \u00een cercurile mi\u015fc\u0103rii Suprarealismului. \u00cen 1952 a p\u0103r\u0103sit Rom\u00e2nia, \u015fi s-a mutat la Paris, prin Israel. La Paris va colabora cu al\u0163i arti\u015fti celebri, produc\u00e2nd un num\u0103r impresionant de colaje, desene, obiecte sau texte-instala\u0163ii. Poetul este dublat de un original artist vizual, cum descoperim citind cartea sa <em>Iubit\u0103 cantitativ<\/em> \/ <em>Quantitativement aim\u00e9e<\/em>, publicat\u0103 la Bucure\u015fti \u00een 1944, apoi \u00een albumul <em>Les Ora Quanta<\/em> din 1946, \u00een <em>Vampirul Pasiv<\/em> din 1945. Documentarul TV din 1988, <em>Comment s\u2019en sortir sans sortir<\/em>, \u00een care cite\u015fte opt poezii, a f\u0103cut \u00eenconjurul lumii. Pe 9 februarie 1944, la v\u00e2rsta de 80 de ani, s-a sinucis, s\u0103rind \u00een Sena, exact ca prietenul sau, Paul Celan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Alege\u0163i trei scaune, dou\u0103 p\u0103l\u0103rii, c\u00e2teva umbrele, c\u00e2teva pietre, mai mul\u0163i arbori, trei femei goale \u015fi alte cinci bine \u00eembr\u0103cate, \u015faizeci de b\u0103rba\u0163i, c\u00e2teva case, vehicule din toate epocile, m\u0103nu\u015fi, telescoape etc. T\u0103ia\u0163i totul \u00een buc\u0103\u0163i mici (de exemplu, 6&#215;6) \u015fi amesteca\u0163i-le bine \u00eentr-o pia\u0163\u0103 larg\u0103. Acesta a fost B. Fundoianu \/ Benjamin Fondane, n\u0103scut la Ia\u015fi, \u00een 14 noiembrie 1898, \u00eentr-o familie de intelectuali. Debuteaz\u0103 \u00een periodice rom\u00e2ne\u015fti \u015fi evreie\u015fti, unde public\u0103 poeme \u015fi traduceri din limba idi\u015f, semn\u00e2nd, pentru \u00eent\u00e2ia oar\u0103, B. Fundoianu, dup\u0103 toponimul Fundoaia, localitatea de provenien\u0163\u0103 a tat\u0103lui. \u00cen decembrie 1923, emigreaz\u0103 \u00een Fran\u0163a, unde, c\u00e2teva luni mai t\u00e2rziu, \u00eel va \u00eent\u00e2lni pe Lev \u015eestov, a c\u0103rui g\u00e2ndire \u00eel va marca pentru totdeauna, f\u0103c\u00e2nd din studiile filosofice preocuparea central\u0103 a perioadei franceze. O parte din eseurile \u00eenchinate unor filosofi contemporani vor constitui materia volumului <em>La conscience malheureuse<\/em> (1936). La cartea de r\u0103sunet despre Rimbaud <em>Rimbaud, Le Voyou<\/em>, (1933) vin s\u0103 se adauge <em>Faux traite d\u00b4esthetique<\/em> (1938) \u015fi, postum, <em>Baudelaire et l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du gouffre<\/em> (1947). De la Paris, cu ajutorul prietenilor din \u0163ar\u0103, face s\u0103 apar\u0103 volumul de poezii <em>Priveli\u015fti<\/em> (1930). \u00cen martie 1944, este arestat, \u00eempreun\u0103 cu sora sa, Lina, \u015fi \u00eenchis \u00een lag\u0103rul de la Drancy. Prietenii au reu\u015fit s\u0103 ob\u0163in\u0103 eliberarea lui, invoc\u00e2nd faptul c\u0103 era c\u0103s\u0103torit cu o fran\u0163uzoaic\u0103. Poetul \u00eens\u0103 n-a vrut s-o p\u0103r\u0103seasc\u0103 pe Lina, al c\u0103rei destin l-a \u00eemp\u0103rt\u0103\u015fit p\u00e2n\u0103 la urm\u0103. A murit \u00een 1944 la Birkenau.
